About our guests from germany:
The patentblau collective was founded by the DJs Daniel Vague and Martin Ez
with focus on throwing underground nights of outstanding quality in sound,
decoration and experience.
While still pondering about the concept of the collective itself it became
obvious that no rig they could rent would meet their expectations, so the
two of them decided to do the whole thing and aquired a serious set of gear
to play with during their events and renting it out as a side business.
This, even before doing the first own nights themselves, gained them the
reputation of having one of the best rigs to rent in Berlin for underground parties
and lead to a couple of interesting collaborations.
In may 2005 the first small open air test session at Treptower Park, Berlin,
instantly gathered a crowd of 500 people and proved the quality of musical
taste and rig to both of them. Straight after that they started launching
their own nights.
The debut party already did show the exquisit taste in location and
decoration, and London's Dub Kult being one of the headliners it also did
create the first connections to the London scene.
One year later the patentblau story reads as amazing success:
6 more successfull events, guest performes like Maral Salmassi, Jo Sauerbier
[Kompakt], Dub Kult and SAYTEK, on top they established great connections to
the local scene and collaborate with the infamous barfuss! collective.
But not only their own nights are in demand, their DJ skills and musical
tastes are, as well. DJ gigs alongside names like Dan Bell, Lawrence or
Carsten Jost and in locations like GMT or Festsaal Kreuzberg are just the
highlights of an outstanding catalogue.
While Daniel Vague tends to play darker, more minimalistic techno Martin Ez
has his own, very unique way of blending techno with melodic and Electrohouse
elements, an explosive recepie for the dancefloor.
On the 15th of May 2005, exactly one year after their official debut party,
we will see them performing in London alongside their previous guests, Dub
Kult and SAYTEK. Joining in will be Chris Box and Russel Skellon from Run
and Andi Sparks and Pascal.o from aftermatch.
Happy Birthday patentblau!
